In accordance with the requirements of the Russian legislation design documentation for construction works, including transport infrastructure projects, must be worked out with a glance to the requirements aimed at providing environmental protection and safety.

Apart from the above-mentioned special sections the contents of the design documentation prescribed by the Government Regulation of the Russian Federation envisage compulsory development of the project feasibility  study of a projectible linear object, including justification of the road class, number of lanes (number of tracks at the railway crossings, dimensions of the carriage way on a man-made structure, design prospective motor traffic density and traffic volume for railroad, design payback period of capital investments, net discounted earnings) and a range of other indicators.

“Institut Giprostroymost” JSC carries out works on the following special design sections:

• environmental assessment;
• nature-conservative measures;
• soil reclamation and territory beautification;
• dendrology;
• arrangements providing fire safety;
• applying for investing in construction, and justification of investments in the construction of transport units;
• economic and engineering-ecological surveying;
• efficiency of investments;
• assessment of efficiency and justification for the use of federal budget funds for project realization;
• source data capture for projecting.

In the realization of complex projects “Institut Giprostroymost” carries out the development of special sections in-house. In case of technically complex, unique projects when design development needs special technical conditions the Institute attracts specialist research organizations as outsources.
